A couple of weeks ago I shared a thrifted copped compote dish I found.
I loved the warm color of the copper and the potpourri looks so pretty in it.
Winter months usually means I am surrounding myself with warm rich tones of metal. I use silver more in the warmer months because it gives off a cool feel.
Along with copper, I love brass to warm up a room. I found these solid brass wall sconce's recently at a thrift store.
They only need a little cleaning and polishing. I will have to make sure to secure them to the wall really good because these are very heavy sconces.
The pair was $4.99 and then 50% off. I couldn’t beat that price! They are vintage Gatco.
I also found these two framed pictures. Each were $2.99. And then 50% off that price.
I like the little pictures inside but, I was buying them for the frames and matting.
I generally have no problem finding pretty thrifted frames for pictures, but, finding the right matting is always a lot harder. I really like this double mat and it is just perfect for the photos I want to frame.
These 4 items will hang together in a wall gathering in our small entryway once I frame the photos. I think they will look very nice together.
Now, it’s your turn! Let’s see what fun thriftiness you have to share this week!

Love those brass sconces. I read it is big again. Glad I didn't spray mine ORB like everyone was doing! I wouldn't, it is like a cashmere blazer, timeless!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting, stay warm!
Diann I love the frames and mats! I want to frame some photos and I need to start looking for frames instead of more dishes...lol! hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteGorgeous frames and mats! I'm a brass lover, I have some things and I love them. Thank you for hosting, sweet lady. Hugs,

Your brass sconces are really nice. I have some that were my grandmother's and then found a pair at a yard sale to match. They are also super heavy; I haven't hung either pair yet. Still looking for some wall space - a hazard of being married to an artist (wall space shortage).
ReplyDeleteGreat thrifty finds, Diann! Thank you for hosting and you are in my prayers. xo
ReplyDeleteOh Diann, I like those sconces...don't you just love 50% deals!

Hi Diann....Love your brass candleholders. You know, I LOVE brass! Some think it's old-fashioned but I think that's part of its charm.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on all your thrifty finds!
Thanks so much for hosting this par-tay. Love it. Susan
Great finds! I had a lot of brass things when we first got married but then switched to a primitive style. Now I'm back to shabby and romantic and sure wish I had some of those old things back!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link up---have a lovely weekend!

I've kept all the brass in my home, Diann. It's timeless. Your thrifty find is great. They're really pretty. The pictures too. Nice finds. Stay strong, dear. I think of you and pray your prayers are answered soon.

I have always loved the warmth of copper. I have so much on the top of my kitchen cabinets. Which reminds me; I must get up there one day to clean them... gad.
ReplyDeleteYour brass is beautiful too; I am sure it will make a comeback; the 80's were all about brass. I should know - I still have a bunch from then too! Thanks for hosting Diann... have a good weekend.
I love your take on different metals! Your home must be a true delightful place! I think and pray for you and yours each day. Always remembering and making sure you remain in God's hands today and always!
